PLAB Route (Most Common)
The Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test is the standard route for doctors whose primary medical qualification is not from an GMC-recognized institution and who do not have a recognized postgraduate qualification.

Verify Your Primary Medical Qualification
Before starting the GMC process, your medical degree must be verified through EPIC (Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials), operated by ECFMG.

Pass PLAB 1
PLAB 1 is a written exam consisting of 180 multiple-choice questions. It tests your ability to apply clinical knowledge to the care of patients as described in the GMC's Good Medical Practice guidelines.
PLAB 1 is offered multiple times per year at centres worldwide, including India, Pakistan, UAE, Egypt, Nigeria, and many other countries. You can take PLAB 1 up to 4 times.
Pass PLAB 2
PLAB 2 is an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) consisting of 18 clinical stations. It tests your clinical skills, including diagnosis, management, communication, and professionalism.
